Luigi Caputi

I am a research fellow (assegnista di ricerca) at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Bologna. Before that, I was at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Torino, a research fellow at the School of Natural and Computing Sciences of the University of Aberdeen, and a Postdoctoral fellow with the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague.

I have completed my Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Regensburg, under the supervision of Ulrich Bunke and Clara Löh. I was supported by the research grants GRK 1692: Curvature, Cycles, and Cohomology, and the DFG SFB 1085 “Higher Invariants”.

Research interests

My research involves a mixture of homotopy theory, homological algebra, category theory, combinatorial and geometric topology. I am generally interested in homology and homotopy theories, coarse geometry, combinatorial topology, K-theory, and their applications.
